Short Cut: Singapore
Short what? On the tiny flamingo you will find longer and more comprehensive posts about trips, cities and countries but for those who are sometimes as lazy as I am and don’t want to read all the stuff – the Short Cuts will give you the most important information you need to know.
Facts: Although Singapore is a very small country, there is a lot to do & see. As it’s located one degree north of the equator, the climate is always very humid and around 30 degrees. From July to October the probability of haze (resulting from Indonesian bushfires) is quite high – so this might not be the best time to visit Singapore.
Must eat: Singapore offers a lot of different cuisines. My favourite dishes are: Roti Prata (Indian), Chicken Briyani (Indian), Dumplings (at Din Tai Fung), Chicken Rice (Chinese) and Nasi Lemak (Malay). You can get them nearly everywhere you go as you’ll find a food court in every corner in Singapore. The food is quite cheap but very delicious! My favourite one is – Lau Pa Sat!
Must drink: In Singapore you definitely need to try a Singapore Sling, Sugar Cane Juice, Iced Tea (with a lot of sugar), Green Tea with Jasmine flavour, Teh Tarik, Mango Lassi
Must see: Little India, Chinatown, Botanic Gardens, The Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, Orchard Road, Gardens By The Bay, Sentosa Island
