Short Cut: Beijing
Short what? On the tiny flamingo you will find longer and more comprehensive posts about trips, cities and countries but for those who are sometimes as lazy as I am and don’t want to read all the stuff – the Short Cuts will give you the most important information you need to know.
Facts: Beijing is the capital of the People’s Republic of China. Currency = Yuan, Main Language = Mandarin, Best Travel Time = April/May and September/October
Must eat: Visiting Beijing, there is one thing you definitely need to try – the traditional Peking Duck! Although it’s quite expensive, you cannot leave Beijing without trying Peking Duck. If you are more courageous than me, try some insects and bugs at the Wangfujing street/ night market. There you can find a lot of different animals to try. I only made it to trying a grasshopper 😉
Must drink: Not really a must but nice to try is the local beer. I tried the Nanjing Beer and liked it although I am normally not a beer fan. So if you like beer you probably won’t like it 🙂
Must see: The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Great Wall of China, Temple of Heaven, Wangfujing night market, Beihai Park & Houhai Lake
